Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), a COAST consortium member is working on developing a 3D model of a ship to use in various educational areas. The following applications are being envisaged:
- Meteorology model for awareness of weather and its consequences in meteorology teaching in Nautical program at HVL
- Cybersecurity model for risk awareness by a walkthrough model in order to identify various risks along the way
- Human factors walkthrough with examples and questions about workplace design (planned)
- A simple model of sea marks and navigation aids for first-year students (planned)
The model can be used on the web and in Oculus 3D glasses now. Development towards AR and other solutions are some of the possibilities for the future.
